As the Olympics are fast approaching, gymnastics enthusiasts are following the Road to Rio which includes many events that will decide what athletes will compete in the 2016 Olympic Games. Kohei Uchimura: You have probably heard of him as he has dominated the medal stand for the past 7 years. This man is so exciting to watch as he does huge skills and has impeccable form. In a time where there is a debate on how to bring artistry back into ‘artistic gymnastics’ he is living proof that it can still be done.
Marian Dragulescu: Dragulescu is a veteran in the gymnastics world. Having a skill named after you is a huge accomplishment and the Dragulescu vault (first vault in the video) is extremely difficult. One of the notable things about Marian, is how much fun he has at competitions. At 2015 World Championships you could see him dancing, joking, and taking selfies with everyone. It’s good to see someone who works so hard to be the best still having fun, after all, isn’t that what gymnastics is all about?
British Team: It is too difficult to pick just one of the men on the British Team. Over the last couple of years we have seen the British Team become a strong contender at World Championships and the last Olympics. They have some of the best Pommel Horse workers and are have impressed everyone with their clean execution.
