Handstand Split Hold
Purpose
Maintaining control is important for skills that pass through a handstand on beam. This drill is ideal for athletes working on handstands, back walkovers, front walkovers, and more. It reminds the athlete to maintain a neutral head, open shoulders, a wide, square split, and long levers. In this drill we use the Addie Beam, Booster Blocks, an Octagon and a folded Tumbling Mat to create a station that encourages the gymnast to keep the correct shapes throughout.
